Our Combined Experience

One of the best ways to retrofit your existing home is to eliminate the structure. Allowing unwanted air to enter and conditioned air to escape, will increase your energy consumption and negatively impact your overall comfort. When retrofitting your home you should take into consideration your biggest point of energy loss, your attic. Sealing this area with Synthesia Technology spray foam insulation will greatly enhance your comfort and provide savings for your home’s lifespan. Attics typically consume 35% of the energy to heat and cool your home.

Cavity Wall Insulation

Looking for an affordable way to cut your home energy bills and keep your home nice and cosy? Cosy Homes Energy Solutions are a qualified cavity wall insulation installer.

Good cavity wall insulation can cut your homes heat loss by up to 33% –and save on your home energy bills by up to £480 a year

Houses in the UK mostly have either cavity walls or solid walls:

  • Cavity walls are made of two layers with a gap or ‘cavity’ between them. If your home was built after the 1920s, it’s likely to have cavity wall
  • Solid walls have no gap, so they can’t be filled with cavity wall insulation. If your home was built before the 1920s, it’s likely the external walls are solid walls rather than cavity walls. We can still help sadly not with Cavity Wall Insulation

Cavity walls can be insulated by injecting insulation into the cavity from the outside through drill holes in the outside walls. Insulation is usually polystyrene beads and comes with a 25 year guarantee.

Synthesia Technology insulation can be used to insulate your attic space and protect your home from inclement weather & moisture related damage. In a non-vented attic, insulation is applied directly to the underside of the roof sheathing to insulate the entire attic from seasonal heat and cold. Spray foam is installed between the roof rafters, along with the soffit areas and directly to all exterior surfaces such as gable walls, dormers etc. to produce an airtight building envelope. savings of up to 50%, Foam-LOK™ Retrofit Foam can not only pay for itself but can actually save you money for the entire life of your home.

Airflow through cracks and holes in the walls, ceiling and floor is referred to as air infiltration. In addition to the use of spray foam, air infiltration is minimized by caulking and sealing the building envelope. A home that is not sealed for air infiltration will be uncomfortable due to drafts and will use about 30% more energy than a well-sealed home. Controlling air infiltration is one of the most cost-effective energy-efficient measures in modern construction practices.
